½ pound pork sausage, ½ pound ground beef, ½ red onion, 2 garlic cloves, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Pour in chicken stock and spaghetti sauce, then add spaghetti noodles and red pepper flakes to the pot. Raise the heat and bring to a boil, stirring so the spaghetti does not stick together or to the bottom of the pot.

Notes

  • Beef or vegetable stock can be substituted for chicken stock.
  • For a saucier pasta, add additional sauce after making it.
  • Add vegetables to mix things up, such as mushrooms or bell peppers.
  • White onion can be substituted for red onion.
  • Other kinds of pasta may be used instead of spaghetti.
  • Double the pork sausage if you want to replace the ground beef.
  • Try adding dried basil or Italian seasoning to mix things up for an extra flavor boost.
