Meals with Ham Tips
- Store ham in the freezer in a freezer-safe airtight container for up to 1-2 months and simply take what you need out when you're ready to cook! Ham slices are incredibly easy to thaw, so this is a great way to extend the life of your leftover ham.
- Don't get rid of that bone! Ham bone recipes are a total game-changer. You can use a ham bone to make a homemade bone broth for soups that will change the way you make soup!
- There are other easy ways to use leftover ham, too. Try mixing it into fried rice, stir-fry, an omelette, quiche, macaroni and cheese, or diced in a chef's salad. You will never run out of leftover ham ideas if you get creative with what to pair it with!
Leftover Ham Ideas FAQs
Leftover ham lasts for about 3-5 days in the refrigerator when stored properly in an airtight container. If you need it to last longer, transfer it to a freezer-safe container and store in the freezer for 1-2 months.
Do not let ham sit out at room temperature for longer than 2 hours. It can be placed in the refrigerator even if it's still warm, so refrigerate it when you're done!
