Pork Tenderloin Instant Pot Recipes

If you know pork to be tough or dry, prepare to be in awe. Pork tenderloin Instant Pot recipes might just change how you think of pork! You can't go wrong - it's super fast, super easy, and makes its own gravy!

Best of all, this is a budget cut of meat that regularly goes on sale, so it has great value. And, when you cook it perfectly, it's one of the softest, juiciest cuts of pork you can find!

The great thing about using the Instant Pot is that it's practically impossible to get it wrong. This recipe is so easy, I guarantee you'll be making it again and again!

Pork Tenderloin in Pressure Cooker Tips

  • Make sure to make the gravy before fully cooking the tenderloin! While it can be made afterwards, you'll miss out on the browned bits in the pan, making for a far less flavorful gravy.
  • Make absolute sure to check the temperature of the pork with a meat thermometer. A low cook time and variable thickness of meat makes this especially important!
  • The seasonings for this recipe are variable! Garlic, salt, and pepper are great starting points, but feel free to add herbs, brown sugar, and other favorite spices. You can't go wrong!
  • Always let pork rest after cooking! The rest time will allow this tenderloin to finish cooking and soak up any lost juice. Trust me, it makes a difference!

Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin Recipe FAQs

How long to cook pork in Instant Pot?

The Instant Pot cooks pork very quickly on high pressure, but cooking pork is all about knowing the cut you're cooking. For a single 1 lb pork tenderloin, 5 minutes and a quick release is plenty of time. For a 2 lb pork tenderloin, cook for 5 minutes but then use natural release to let it cook for longer as the pressure is releasing.

Why is my Instant Pot pork tenderloin tough?

The Instant Pot is magic, but it can still overcook pork if it's cooked for too long! Overcooked pork gets tough and dry, so make sure to weigh your pork and cook it for the appropriate time. Always make sure to check the internal temperature- pork is safe to eat at 145°F.

Does pork get more tender the longer you cook it?

Some pork gets more tender the longer it's cooked, but this depends on the cut of pork! Heavier, more connective cuts like shoulder and butt will eventually become ultra soft and fall-apart tender when cooked for long periods of time at low heat. Tenderloin, shoulder blade, and pork chops will get tough if cooked too long, however, so it does best with shorter cook times.

Pork Tenderloin Temp

Making delicious pork is all about getting the temperature just right! 145°F is the sweet spot for pork, where it's safe to eat but not so cooked that it becomes tough. Remember, always use a meat thermometer to check pork. It's notorious for overcooking!
